AI4Diet is a project aimed at developing new feeding strategies for farm animals (ruminants, pigs, and poultry),

a key driver of the agroecological transition.

AI4Diet is rallying its stakeholders

Help shape the next generation of animal feed tools—at the heart of the agroecological transition—by joining the AI4Diet project, a program under the PEPR Agroecology and Digital Initiative.

The project

The AI4Diet project is part of the PEPR Agroecology and Digital Technology initiative, aimed at developing new feeding strategies for farm animals (ruminants, pigs, and poultry), a key driver of the agroecological transition.

The project employs artificial intelligence methods to complement existing tools, in order to better characterize feed resources and estimate the various nutritional needs of animals across diverse production contexts. It relies in particular on the development of hybrid models, combining mechanistic approaches and statistical learning.

In parallel, multi-objective formulation algorithms will be developed to improve the exploration of trade-offs between different criteria, such as zootechnical performance, environmental impacts, the use of local resources, or new dimensions necessary for the agroecological transition.

Partners and Stakeholders

The project is led by a consortium comprising INRAE, INRIA, AFZ, AgroParisTech, Idele, Ifip, Itavi, ITAB, Eliance, Siel, Axiom, and Nucleus.

Beyond the partners’ work, the contribution of stakeholders is essential to test developments against real-world conditions and identify relevant use cases.

Stakeholders will be involved at various stages of the project, particularly to help define needs, participate in discussions (focus groups, surveys), and, where possible, test and discuss the tools currently under development.

The objective

The objective is to develop scientifically robust approaches that are relevant to the practices and constraints of the sectors.
